Years ago when I had a Family Child Care, one the the parents gave me a beautiful pen and ink drawing with this quote
"There are two things you give your children,
One is roots; the other is wings."
This is my favorite quote related to families...it was special to me back in 1991 when I received it. Twenty years later, now that my children are grown, married and on their own, it is even more special. As I look at where life has taken them, I believe I have given them both things.
LOVE IT!!! As a mother of 3 young children, their roots are becoming stronger, but not ready for their wings to fly just yet!
ReplyDeleteJudi,
ReplyDeleteI really love your quote. It is so important that we remember that children need to have those roots no matter how old they are. When we give them positive and solid roots, when they start to fly, they will not fly in the wrong direction. Great story. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Dear Judi,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful gift! The quote is not only beautiful, but it is also bitter sweet. My two oldest have now left the nest. It was hard at first, but I think I see them more now than when they lived at home. Just another important reminder on how fast life goes and to cherish everything that is important. Thanks for sharing!!!
Sincerely,
Debbie
